LignoBase™ is a multifunctional cosmetic ingredient line obtained from clean and sustainably sourced plants. Carefully crafted with Lignopure’s patented particle technology, each LignoBase™ has a unique polyphenolic molecular structure that provides multiple cosmetic functionalities such as skin protection against free radicals, antioxidant activity in the formulation and SPF-boosting effect.

In addition, the natural color of every LignoBase™ ingredient helps reduce the white cast and simplifies the color formulation of different skin tones in various cosmetic formulations while offering a soft skin feeling with a mattifying effect.

Antioxidant

LignoBase™ neutralized 70-98% of intracellular free radicals produced by human keratinocytes in culture and increased the antioxidant activity in an O/W cream up to 43 times.

SPF Booster

LignoBase™ showed a 35-75% in vitro SPF boosting effect in mineral and chemical-based sun care formulations.

Natural color

The natural colors of each LignoBase™ simplify the color formulation for many cosmetic applications and helps to decrease the white cast effect in diverse sun care formulations.

Mattifying

LignoBase™ showed an equal or higher oil adsorption capacity than Kaolin and more than twice the oil adsorption capacity than Bentonite accompanied by a soft feeling effect.
